Deb's Story Part 4

During the second year of mobilizing non-stop prayer the Lord started speaking to me about strategic prayer partnering with non-stop prayer to bring breakthrough. That brought me to a divine connection with Becca Greenwood, who would later introduce me to Jack!

As Jack has shared earlier, he had invited Becca to Indiana to train and see breakthrough for the healing revival wells his Great, Great, Great Grandmother had dug a hundred years earlier. Becca then invited me to travel to Indiana for a prayer journey in the summer of 2012.

Jack and I met in the parking lot of Etter Tabernacle in Indianapolis, IN. The rest, as we say is history!

We now co-lead Lite the Fire and are committed to igniting the generations for breakthrough and transformation through prayer, impartation, training and activation.

Stay tuned for more stories that will stir your faith and ways that you can get involved with Lite the Fire!

Deb's Story Part 3

New Year’s Eve 2007 Lite the Fire launched into what we thought would be a year of mobilizing non-stop prayer around the State of Arizona through an initiative we would later name “The Torch”. Little did we know that the Lord had something different in mind! As of the writing of this blog we are finishing up mobilizing 7 years of non-stop prayer. We have seen prayer in all 7 spheres of society. We have helped mobilize prayer not only in the church but in business, schools, jails, hospitals and City Hall. We have even rented hotel rooms and hosted a week of non-stop prayer at Sky Harbor International Airport, with permission from government officials!

In July, 2008 the Lord started speaking to me about mantles from past generations that were waiting to be picked up and He instructed me to “seek the mantles”. I was specifically seeking the Lord and researching Evan Roberts and the Welsh Revival as my father was Welsh and that was the first revival I had ever read about as a brand new believer.

Next thing I know I am at a DebCo conference in Tucson with Cindy Jacobs. I was minding my own business in worship when Cindy called me out and released to me the Mantle of Maria Woodworth Etter. So you can see where this is going J

Deb's Story Part 2

It has been an interesting journey over the last 20 years. Anyone who thinks life is boring as a Christian is missing the point. I think I was born into the battle! Within my first couple of years of walking with Jesus I had traveled to the other side of the world with a 3 week mission trip to Asia, got a crash course on the Spirit of Jezebel – thank you Frances Frangipane for “The Three Battle Grounds”, it was a life saver! I left a flourishing career in the market place only to be thrust back into it for another 9 year season.

I learned much in that season, I learned how to be a Joseph / Daniel and give counsel to leaders in the market place. I learned what it was to have an Ishmael. Then I learned how to birth an Isaac, which is now known as Lite the Fire.

Lite the Fire was birthed out of a season of non-stop prayer. It was 10 days of prayer in the 10th month, between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in 2005. The Lord moved in amazing ways during those 10 days. I saw people come from all over the State to this little prayer room on the campus of Pure Heart Christian Fellowship in Glendale, AZ.  I realized how hungry people were for an encounter with the Lord. Little did I know that this prayer room would catapult me into my destiny! As a result of those 10 day of prayer the Lord called me to be a “fire starter” and after 6 months of arguing with the Lord and feeling terribly unqualified Lite the Fire was birthed in March, 2006.

Deb’s story:

 Part 1

As many of you know, I’m not from around these parts! I was born and raised in England. I lived close to the east coast about 65 miles from London in a very small country town called Manningtree in the county of Essex. I came to America in my late teens seeking a new adventure. I wasn’t raised in anything that remotely looked like a Christian home but The Lord had always put a longing in my heart from even a very young age for the things of God. It is also interesting that the two things I loved to do as a child was play school and look a travel brochures dreaming of the places I would go when I grew up.

I have a story of how trauma and tragedy shaped me and because I didn’t know any better these events drew me very far away from God. My dad died from cancer when I was 13. My response was like many, was that I was angry at God and wanted nothing to do with Him. This lasted until my early 30’s until through again several very traumatic events in my life faced me with the reality that I was a mess and on a road that would only lead to destruction.

I started attending a local Baptist Church and about 5 months later got radically saved. I guess it took me that long because I really weighed the cost of my decision. I knew if I was going to do this Christian thing it would be all or nothing!

Part 2

For a long time I didn’t really tell anyone about my relationship to Maria Woodworth Etter.. The reason I didn’t share about being related to her was because I saw how prideful some of the family members had become and I didn't want to be like that. I really didn't even start read her book until 5 years ago! In 2011 I bought our core group of people from my church a copy of Mother Etter’s Signs and Wonders book. This was right before I invited Becca Greenwood. During that visit I also gave Becca a copy of the book.

I’ve been blessed ever since I got saved, in believing all of God’s Word, in healing, and all the promises of God. That’s why I guess I had to leave that first church, because I believe that it’s all for today. And as a side note, I haven’t been to a doctor since receiving the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, Praise His name, Jesus! But it’s sad in a way that our family history wasn’t handed down to us, my grandpa Rupert, my mom’s dad died in 1963 when he was 53, I was 3. Maria was his great grandmother. My mom died when she was only 50 years old. However, I have been sharing with my three kids about their great… grandmother, so they can draw from their inheritance.

In May, 2013 the Lord had me start a Facebook page all about Maria Woodworth Etter to tell the old, old stories and stir up faith to believe again that God wants to do GREAT signs and wonders today! Every day I post on here stories of her life. Since doing that I’ve learned so much and have had the chance to go around different churches and share about her.

God wants so much in these last days, a people that he can use like Maria, Smith Wigglesworth, John G. Lake, etc... But he wants a many of Maria’s, many of Smith’s, many John’s, many, of you with that type of anointing and greater, an end time army to do the greater works. It’s coming, a mighty visitation from God once again, get us ready Lord!

We thought it would be fun to share a little about the team and our journey to ministry. So we will start with Jack and how he found out about his Great, Great, Great Grandmother - Maria Woodworth-Etter,

So here goes:

Neither me, nor our family had ever heard of Maria Woodworth until 1975 when my cousin; Tom, was looking up our family history and came upon her. He asked his mom; my Aunt Mary, but she knew very little about her. Both Tom and Aunt Mary received Jesus as Savior because of all of this research and getting to talking to people who were in her meetings.

Somewhere in this time period, Harrison House publishing company asked my Aunt if they could republish the “Signs and Wonder” book. She agreed and we now have “Signs and Wonder” available for us to read today! I would like to note that the family doesn’t receive any royalties from the book, Aunt Mary just wanted people to hear the old, old stories of her Great, Great Grandmother.

When the book got reprinted and published in 1980 my Aunt Mary gave her sister, my Mom a copy of this book told her all about Mother Etter. My Mom wasn’t interested in it and gave it to me. I got saved a few months before I turned 22, (1982) and I started going to a Baptist church. So I took the book to the Baptist church and showed them and they said that women aren’t preachers, so it sat on my book shelf for 2 years. It wasn’t until I received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit in 1984 and left the Baptist church and started going to a Charismatic Church that I showed anyone else the book. When I showed them, they knew all about her.

More to come on the next post...
